Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Visitors,

Thank you for visiting our school website. We are proud to share the incredible work happening on our campus.  Bellflower Middle & High School staff believe that all students can learn and thrive when provided with the right opportunities, high expectations, and meaningful relationships.  We lead with kindness as a core value that shapes our interactions, builds trust, and helps create a safe, inclusive learning environment for all.  We are excited to strengthen our connection with the Bellflower community this year.

Bellflower has built a strong reputation for academic excellence through the dedication of our students, staff, and families. Our school offers a wide range of rigorous academic programs, including early college programs, AVID, APEX, and CTE pathways.  We are committed to using AVID strategies to foster academic rigor, student ownership, and college and career readiness for every learner. Through structured support and proven practices such as focused note-taking, collaborative study, and goal-setting, we help students build the habits of mind and skills needed to succeed not only in school, but in life.

Our competitive athletic teams and exceptional visual and performing arts opportunities connect students in significant ways.  Our teachers and staff are passionate educators and mentors who are dedicated to guiding students through meaningful learning experiences that prepare them for the challenges of an ever-changing world.

We believe that student success is strengthened through partnerships between home and school. I encourage all parents and guardians to stay involved by joining our Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) and participating in school events. Your involvement sends a powerful message to students about the importance of their education.

Above all, we believe in the power of working together, Because Unity Creates Success. When we align our efforts, support one another, and stay focused on what’s best for students, we build a culture where everyone can achieve, and everyone belongs.

Sincerely,

Jessica Cummings, Principal, Bellflower Middle and High School
